Faculty Position in Cytogenetics – University of Minnesota Medical School
Location: Minneapolis, MN (On-site)
The University of Minnesota Medical School invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Cytogenetics within the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.
We are seeking individuals who are team-oriented with a passion for discovery, a commitment to clinical excellence, and a dedication to mentorship and education.
The Cytogenetics Laboratory provides comprehensive testing services, including prenatal and postnatal constitutional analysis, cancer diagnostics, and specialized testing for bone marrow failure syndromes. The lab is closely affiliated with the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, offering a full menu of germline and cancer testing using advanced methodologies such as:
Karyotyping
Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH)
Chromosomal microarray
PCR-based assays (qualitative, quantitative, and methylation-specific)
Targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS) panels
Whole-genome and whole-exome sequencing
Qualifications:
Completion of an ABMGG-accredited Clinical Cytogenetics or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics Fellowship
